About University

The Thiruvalluvar University was established at Vellore by Government of Tamilnadu in October 2002 under the Thiruvalluvar University Act 2002 (Government of Tamilnadu Act 32/2002). Thiruvalluvar University has seven departments and 128 affiliated colleges. 1.4 lakh students are studying under the jurisdiction of the university. The University Grant Commission (UGC) has awarded 12 (B) status to Thiruvalluvar University.

The Objective of Conference

  • To Popularize Thirukkural globally
  • To attract the attention of the young generation to understand Thirukkural through short films, dramas and stories.
  • To inculcate the moral and ethics to the society through debate and argument stages.
  • To motivate the society to follow the precepts of Thirukkural through exhibition.
  • To analyse the historical perspective of Thiruvalluvar
  • To encourage the young generation to memorize Thirukkural through musical genre

All the seminar papers should be original contribution with emphasis on the following three themes:

  • Wealth
  • Love

Seminar Guidelines

  • All research papers must be written in English or Tamil (Unicode font) in font size 12 and single space in not more than 10 pages.
  • The extended version of the selected papers presented in the conference will be peer reviewed and considered for publication in Thiruvalluvar University Journal.

  • Rs. 2500/- is registration fee for each paper.
  • Rs. 2000/- is participation fee for each participant.
  • Registration fee for cultural competitions Rs. 1000/-
  • Event participation fee for selected candidates Rs. 500/
